Upon commencing this venture, Surf LC was out looking for everyone involved in surfing the lowcountry. All the way from Wilmington to Hilton Head and Northern Georgia, we wanted to learn more, talk more and experience more than before.
In these travels, we got to talk to the incredibly cool Mike Bartlett. A student, one of the administrators of SurfReportMyrtleBeach.com and surfer from the Myrtle Beach area, Bartlett has competed professionally and is one of the lowcountry’s own. We had some time to sit down a few minutes with Mike and ask him about surfing, the lowcountry and life. The following is the interview.

7) Tell us your favorite surfing memory: Hmm Probably Hurricane Isabel – Long Beach, NC. September 4th 2004. Amazing 10-12 ft Waves and perfect.
8) Where is your favorite place to eat after a day at the beach? Anything Mexican
9) What contests have you participated in? There’s way too many to list. I surf all the ESA competitions; ESA mid-atlantic regionals in Puerto Rico, Reef Pro-Am in Wrightsville are a couple of the larger ones.
10) What advice would you give to people just getting into surfing? The more time you’re in the water and time you devote to it the better you’ll get…and just Keep the Stoke!
