Good morning, Lowcountry! Hope the week was great and the weekend was greater.
We just wanted to let you know of a few events going on locally, if you want to get out, clean the beach, see some surfing, etc.
A showing of Food, Inc. is showing at the Terrace Theatre, 1956 Maybank Hwy out on James Island. It is showing at all times but Lowcountry Local First and Slow Food Charleston is holding a special screening at 7:15 August 3. The movie will be followed by a talk about how the points discussed in the movie affect the lowcountry.
Next week, Surfer’s Healing will be at the Folly Pier. It’s happening Tuesday, August 11 at 9am. If you would like to volunteer, please email nancy@follywaves.com.
The SC Governor’s Cup of Surfing is happening August 29-30 at Folly Beach. If you would like to surf, apply on www.active.com. If you would like to volunteer for the event, email ssc@surfesa.org. Read about the prep here.
Billabong’s new film, “Still Filthy” is being shown in Wrightsville Beach, NC August 12-14 at Wrightsville Beach Park. You can meet Andy Irons and Shane Dorian on the 12th. The 3 nights will start at 7 and the movie will start at dark. Meet and greet with AI and Shane will be at 6th on the 12th.
